Recently, I had the pleasure of spending some time with Dan and Nikki Turner.
Dan recently completed the inaugural McIntyre Mini Globe 2025 race finishing 2nd overall in a Globe 5.80 boat which he built himself. The circumnavigation, covering over 24,000 nautical miles took 221 days in total.
This phenomenal feat would not have been possible without the incredible support from Nikki, family and the wider South Australian sailing fraternity. I got to ask Dan and Nikki a few questions about their experiences throughout the project and I came away from this meeting completely in awe and even more inspired to achieve my own goal to single hand across an ocean or two.
